Sharpening Class - A Photo Diary

When I first started working at KNIFE I had absolutely no sharpening experience. I was very lucky to learn from the absolute best, Eugene, and now for the past few years I have had the pleasure of teaching our knife sharpening classes. I still remember the first knife I ever sharpened from start to finish and how accomplished I felt after it was done. Was it perfect? Not even close, but it sure was sharp! This is something that I love to see in my classes now - you may not walk out with the perfect edge line or polish but every single person always leaves with a sharp knife and the knowledge to continue confidently on their sharpening journey. 

I feel very honoured to be our sharpening instructor and to have the chance to pass on all of the incredibly valuable knowledge I've absorbed over my many years here at KNIFE. And I find that I have learned so much from our students over the years, as well! From professionals to home cooks, I love to see the different kinds of people who join us and watch them gain so much confidence over the couple of hours they spend with me during class. Knife sharpening is a super cool and useful skill to learn and I look forward to teaching lots more classes in the future!
