For over a century, Makizuka has crafted heavy-duty iron with obsessive precision in Takamatsu,  Kagawa Japan — a major steel makers hub in Japan. Their pans and plates are built to take heat, hold it, and turn it into pure, even sear. These are tools designed not just for cooking, but for cooking well.

Care guide from Makizuka:

The product is seasoned with a baked-in oil coating at the time of purchase. This is intended to prevent rust before shipping, but it will gradually peel off with use. Rust prevention is not possible. While the pre-seasoning coating is non-toxic, if you notice any peeling, we recommend removing the coating with a scrubbing brush and then re-seasoning with natural oils from tea leaves or coffee.

After use, drain well and dry before storing. These kettles will, if cared for, last a lifetime.

Includes a purposeful little rare earth magnet for securing the handles flat or raised. Also makes a fantastic lid holder.
