Naniwa Abrasive was founded in 1952 and produces some of the finest abrasion materials in Japan. Due to their hardness and quick prep time, we think that these are some of the best synthetic whetstones on the market and we use them almost exclusively in our in house sharpening service.
Naniwa Professional (previously Chosera) stones boast a higher ceramic content than those from the Traditional line. The density of these stones means they dish slower and don't require as much flattening, but most of all they are very fast cutting.
We recommend that all grits of the Naniwa Professional line not be soaked and used "splash and go." Store dry, unwrapped, and carefully. Enjoy.
