Mcusta Friction Folder SPG2 3 Layer (MC-0191G)

Mcusta's Friction Folder is inspired by the traditional Japanese Higonokami (肥後守) - a type of friction folder, which has a Chikiri ('thumb lever') that can be used to both open the blade and prevent it from accidentally closing while in use.

The hollow ground blade is SPG2 core san mai and the wavy lamination line intentionally mimics the famous Hamon of traditional Katana swords. The silky-smooth-opening slip joint mechanism is complimented with a ball bearing detent to keep the blade closed as well as set in the open position (non-locking).

Mcusta’s passionate craftsmanship and innovative designs have resulted in this stylish, practical tool that updates the traditional Japanese Higonokami knife for the 21st century.
