Handles!
Each size is made to fit a different size/style of knife, but it is easy to customize to your preferences.
The grain of wood and buffalo horn will vary from handle to handle.
Most handles are wider at the base and taper toward the ferrule.
Please refer to the following measurements for a more accurate fit estimate, but do note that individual handles may vary in size by 1-2mm.

Fukirushi is a traditional Japanese woodworking and finishing technique distinguished by its deep, tactile surface and rich, layered expression of wood grain. Artisans begin by carefully texturing the surface of the wood, then applying multiple layers of natural lacquer or oil. Each layer is polished back by hand to reveal the relief, allowing the wood’s structure to rise and fall beneath the finish. The result is a surface that feels alive beneath the fingertips—smooth, dimensional, and enduring.
This process celebrates both craftsmanship and material honesty. Rather than hiding the natural character of the wood, Fukirushi enhances it, drawing out subtle contrasts and organic movement. The finish is exceptionally resilient, resistant to moisture and wear, and designed to age beautifully over time.
Pieces made using the Fukirushi method carry a quiet sense of refinement—minimal in form but rich in detail. They invite touch, reward close attention, and connect contemporary living with centuries-old Japanese craft knowledge.
Ideal for objects intended for daily use, Fukirushi woodworking balances utility with understated elegance, creating heirloom-quality pieces meant to be used, appreciated, and passed forward.
