We are proud to introduce this delicious coffee from Kanazawa, Japan.
The gorgeous flavour of bergamot and the fresh, transparent sweetness are reminiscent of various fruits such as muscat and pink grapefruit. A vivid taste similar to Geisha! I was surprised that it was a basic variety called Bourbon and a traditional washed process. Due to the producer's careful work and the high potential of the terroir, it also won an award at the 2023 Cup of Excellence. Please experience the beautiful taste that does not rely on the process, but is due to the variety and terroir.
Rosas Pata is a small farm cultivated and harvested by a family of five. The owner of the farm, Flavio, has been engaged in coffee cultivation for over 30 years since he was a child. They handle the process up to the point of making parchment, and after that, they bring it to the Inambari Agricultural Cooperative for processing. Although the production volume is small, Flavio is sensitive to new things and is proactive about experimental lots and fermentation processes. The main variety released this time is Bourbon, but they also produce small amounts of Geisha and Typica.
DHJ trading handles exports. Based in Puno the southernmost part of Peru, this exporter is run by a small staff of 8 people. Despite the small number of employees, they actively use Q graders to control the quality of each lot and provide direct feedback to agricultural cooperatives and producers. In the future, they plan to focus on organic certified coffee and increase the amount they handle. The level of producers and exporters in Peru is likely to continue to rise. We can expect to see many top quality micro lots in the future.
