The Nucleus Paragon Espresso was created in collaboration with Zurich University of Applied Science (ZHAW) after researching the effect of temperature on volatile aroma compound preservation and the resulting sensory flavour outcomes in coffee. Through extensive research and development, Nucleus and ZHAW have designed a new brewing device that retains up to 40% more volatile aroma compounds. 

The 30mm diameter chilling rock size for the Paragon Espresso is smaller than the Paragon Filter rock and has been designed to suit espresso. The chilling rock is a core component of the Paragon Espresso. Constructed from food-grade stainless steel and coated with a layer of highly durable titanium, its spherical shape and large surface area allow for even and rapid chilling. Offering greater thermal capacity, the high-density liquid gel centre maintains colder temperatures for longer, and freezes faster than hollow or water-filled alternatives. 

The design of the Paragon Espresso Mounts ensure that brewed espresso cascades over a chilling rock in a thin layer, allowing for desirable volatile aroma compounds to be retained while maintaining the temperature of your espresso. They are also height-adjustable to accommodate different cups and espresso machines and is designed with anti-slip grips. 

Each Paragon Espresso comes with two Paragon Espresso Mounts and four Chilling Rocks and is ready to bring excellence to your espresso.
