The Farmer
Reshad Abuls is a new producer we have begun working with this year, in hope that we can develop a long running partnership in the years to come.
Reshad is a young producer who took over his father's farm three years ago. He collaborates closely with six neighbouring farmers, all dedicated to producing high-quality natural coffee. The farm operates without electricity or water, relying entirely on natural methods for processing coffee.
His farm is located in Agaro, Jimma, which is the same area where we previously sourced coffee from the Yukro cooperative. The region, like much of Ethiopia, is hilly and lush, though somewhat warmer than Yirgacheffe and Sidamo due to its lower altitude of around 1,900-2,000 meters above sea level.
Reshad's coffee is grown without any chemicals or pesticides. Which is why we are currently discussing the possibility of investing in organic certification. This certification would enable us to purchase larger volumes of Reshad's coffees, further expanding our collaboration.
