Takeshi Saji VG-10 225mm Chuka Bocho



One of our favourite blacksmiths here at the shop is Takeshi Saji.  Saji-san's knives are gorgeous.  Working out of his hamono in Takefu, Echizen.  Saji-san uses VG-10 steel for this show stopper of a knife paired with desert ironwood for the handle.  Although a little heavier than many of our other cleavers, the comfort and balance of the knife feels natural in the hand.  With a rockwell hardness of around 62-63, this handmade stunner is designed and made for a lifetime of use.  

This gorgeous handmade chuka is absolutely stunning. Pictures don't do this knife justice.  The Suminagashi layering is amazing and a true test to Master Saji's attention to detail.

Although a work of art, this cleaver is still made to be used in any kitchen. Store dry and cherish this stunner of a knife for life.
