Murata knives are made by Blacksmith Takeo Murata in Kochi Japan. He uses high grade Aogami #1 in these handmade knives. The Kurouchi finish helps protect the carbon steel from oxidization but needs to be kept dry and clean regardless. The 62 HRc makes for great edge retention and durability.
Due to the reactive nature of carbon steel. Please remember to wash and dry after each use to prevent oxidation.
