Introducing a new line here at KNIFE.
Kurosagi by Hatsukokoro in Seki City, Japan.
The Kurosagi line is made in the Motokyuuichi Hamono. Run by 5th generation blacksmith Yasuhide Maeda, this knife is one of the most unique we've seen in a while. The design and name of the knife are derived from Kuro, meaning 'black,' and Sagi meaning 'heron,' making for a rustic blade with an impressive profile.
The Bunka is similar to the classic Santoku shape, which is the Japanese version of a chef knife. Push and slice for best results.
The utilization of Aogami Super carbon steel makes for incredible edge retention.
We are looking forward to seeing more Kurosagi knives soon.
These knives are not cladded with stainless steel and will rust if left wet or dirty. Make sure to wipe down your knife to protect from oxidization.
Due to the incredibly and meticulously handmade nature of these knives, we have noticed some variance in length, grind, and finish on these products. We are happy to accommodate sharpening requests and/or requests for pictures of the knives in stock before they are shipped. Thank you for your understanding.
